Nokia 3586i power- cycles....

Hi,
I am facing some problem with Nokia 3586i handset.
If you press Star key on text entry screen the device power-cycles.
Is this device issue or is there any way to solve this problem.
Can any one help me out of this...

what does the * key do in your app, i assume it has to do with the way you are handling it, or does it power cycle in the os
