Hello,

I don't if this is related to this section, but I think this is the closest topic ;)

Anyways, I have a Motorola E815 and its ALWAYS on EvDO mode. When making a data call, handset sometimes switches to 1x mode and sometimes doesn't -- if it doesn't switch to 1x, then the data call fails. This behavior is also seen from BREW MobileShop, so I don't think is the code at all. Did anyone encounter the same problem? If so, what can I do to force the handset to stay at 1x mode (i.e. OEM settings, etc)?

I thought EvDO connection was transparent to the app, but I guess not...

Thanks!

I'm having exactly the same issue with a Motorola RAZR. Did you ever find a solution or answer?

Thanks!

BTW, I watch the following messages go by while the phone attempts to make a data connection (both in my own app, as well as in the Get New! shop):

==> AEETAPI_cbPhoneStatus *AEETAPI.c 805 3 1 0 20447008
==> AEETAPI_cbCallEvent *AEETAPI.c 777 3 1 0 20447008

(I've already searched the forums for "AEETAPI_cb*", but found nothing.)

Thanks again!

Googling a little, I came across these two threads at some forum:

The odd thing is, SOMETIMES the network does work for us (our app can make a connection now and then, and we've seen Get It Now! work at least once). I'm fairly certain in all of those cases, the annunciator still read "EV" and not "1x".

I seem to recall we had similar EVDO-related issues with the LG VX9800 (that weird-looking QWERTY clamshell monstrosity). Time to dig in my notes from last year.

Verizon has poked at the handset from their end, but no luck yet. They'll get back to us in up to 48hrs.
