I'm trying to connect to CDM9500 using the USB cable we were provided. Any idea how to trick the apploader into seeing the phone on the USB port its connected to?

Will support for USB connections be added in a future version of the apploader/tools?

Ah thank you. however, i see a new problem - where does one find USB drivers for these phones?

I've never used the USB cable, though I assume the driver is included on the CD that came with the Motorola connectivity kit, in the case of the T720. I've heard of others having trouble getting a data cable for the CDM9500 -- I haven't got that phone yet. Didn't you get a driver with the cable?

no, we had trouble getting a cable for the phone, and finally someone found one for us, but they only sent the cable.

*sigh*

wouldn't it be neat if the Apploader, emulator, and other Brew tools included device file, drivers, and such for all the Brew phones? oh well, i can dream :)

thanks for your responses.

Hi,

I just got the Mobile Office Kit data cable(USB) for connecting to the phone. I was able to install it and use the phone as a modem.

I also downloaded the BrewApploader 2.1 today. But I observed the following things

1. There is no option for choosing a USB connection to the phone.
(Some people have said in earlier posts that they were able to get it to work using the COM4 port option. But Apploader just shows 2 COm port options to me.
2. It does not list the motorola t720 in the list of supported devices.

I tried following the instructions in one of the posts (listed by BREW support) of switching the phone off connecting the cable and switching the phone on again. But it does not work.

Can anyone provide me with detail instructions on what to do?

Thanks

I've been using the USB cable with APP Loader and the T720 with no problems.

I loaded the driver that came with the Mobile Office Kit data cable(USB). The app loader then showed an additional COM port (in my case COM7:), which worked when selected.

Note that I just bought that cable about 3 weeks ago, and may have 'newer' drivers from the cd that came with it.

Hi,

I too have installed the USB driver but it did not add any port to the list of ports in the AppLoader.

Is there something special that you did?

Thanks

I realized my mistake. I had installed the Apploader before the USB driver :).

I re-installed the Apploader after installing the USB driver and I am able to talk to the device. Apploader then shows an extra COM port corresponding to the USB port.

So....does the USB cable from mobile office kit works with CDM9500 and Apploader? Can someone confirm this?
THanks.
