Send SMS

I noticed that in v1.1 (as in v1.0) BREW does not allow sending of SMS messages:
"The BREW API, however, does not provide an interface to send SMS messages from a mobile device."

Why is this feature not supported?
When will it be supported?

Many new services define SMS transport bindings and without this feature it is not possible to implement such applications.

BREW 1.1 does not support mobile originated SMS. However, this will be supported in versions of BREW subsequent to BREW 1.1.
