Disable changing text entry mode

According to the BREW API reference doc., "ITEXTCTL_SetSoftKeyMenu() adds an item to the SoftKey menu that allows the device user to change the text entry mode."
Is it an option to remove this item that is automatically added to the SoftKey menu? If so, how do I do it? I couldn't find it in the doc...
