and if you did, then HOW did you manage to get your app uploaded? I can't for the life of me find the cable/driver combo for this phone.

I have heard that the 6000 drivers work but that does not appear to be the case.

Any thoughts?

I was able to upload the application to VX6100 using the cable of vx6000. And I know that someone could use the cable of vx7000 for x6100 too.

thanks... I have been able to use the 7000 cable for the 6100 since I posted that plea for help.

Just to set the record straight on this one:

The VX6000 serial cable will work if you jam it in the slot. The shape of the connector is only slightly different.

The new-shaped serial cables for all new LG handsets (VX3200/4700/6100/7000/8000) will work without any problems.

The VX7000 USB cable/drivers should work (at least they do for me).

Hi,

I installed USB driver for USB cable that comes along with LG 6100. After installing AppLoader, I can't connect to the handset. What could be the problem? Have anyone connected to 6100 using the USB cable for 6100?

Thank you.

What COM port do you specify? On my machine, the correct port is usually COM7 or COM8, but it may vary.

It just automatically assigns the port: either COM3 or COM4, depending which USB port I connect it to. Do I have the right USB cable? Do I need special USB cable in order to access the phone using AppLoader?

If the USB cable fits the device, it should work just fine. I've been using the cable and drivers from the VX7000 Mobile Office Kit, and I can connect to the VX6100 without any problems.

in my case, I had to plug it in, unplug it, plug it in again, about 4 times before suddenly it worked. If you're using win xp, listen for that chime when you plug in the phone that says that a new hardware device has been detected... then open app loader and see if any new com ports have appeared in the list.
