Hello all,
I am hoping someone else has had the similar problem I am currently having. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have BREW Tools Suite 3.0.0 installed, along with latest Nokia OEM dlls. When I try to connect to the Nokia 3205 with AppLoader, I get two options for OEM layer: QCOMOEM.dll and NokiaAppLoader.dll.

When I choose QCOMOEM.dll (which is the wrong OEM layer to use with a Nokia 3205), I get two choices for port: 4 and 10. (10 is where the USB cable is mapped according to device manager).

The problem is, when I choose NokiaAppLoader.dll as OEM Layer, I only have com port 4 available in drop down.

I'd like to choose com port 10 and NokiaAppLoader.dll.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks is advance,
Rich

know that usually you would use serial cable to connect. In the app loaded it shows up under com 1. I am unaware that you can do it with a USB cable. Which USB cable are you using?

I have used TrueDial cable #22 with Nokia Suite to connect to Nokia 3589i, but had no luck with 3205 doing the same thing.

Have you had any BREW / app issues on this phone? Have you seen any fragmantation that you cannot explain?

Thanks for the reply. No, I haven't noticed any of those problems because I haven't been able to connect the phone. The cable is the DKU-5, purchased directly from Nokia.

After from fooling with the com port settings I was able to get the ports working but I still get an error where I can connect to the specified device id.

Rich

try to
1) reinstall USB drivers from scratch
2) reinstall cable drivers from scratch
3) check if there are any apps affecting USB devices

I had the same problem with other phone, going through 1)-3) fixed the connection.
