My company is developing games and J2ME applications for mobile phones.

I was about to acquire another phone by Motorola or Siemens, and went to a Vivo shop (my wifes tele company here in Brazil) and realized their phones only supports something called 'Brew' ...

Well, I have done a fair bit of research, as well as downloaded the SDK ... because now I am curious - if there proves to be a large market I cannot cover with J2ME games, then I would certainly want to consider porting the games and applications over to Brew.

Anybody with knowledge of marketshares between Brew and Java, eventually what regions/states/countries/telecompanies are using Brew technology?

Best regards,
Robert.

Hi,

I know this tread is quite old, but my company too is developing BREW for Latin American markets.

I think by now you would have found out all about BREW.

Can you help me out instead. My company need to buy a lot of BREW handsets for the Latin American market. The problem is I'm not located in the US or Brazil. How can I go about purchasing handsets online? Is there a site or shop online where I can do this?

Thanks,
Albert.

why don't you buy the same handsets from your local CDMA carrier? Most of the popular BREW handsets in Latin America are the same as those used in North America.
