I'm trying to upload an application to a Nokia 6225 with the Brew Apploader 3.0.
I followed the instructions for installing the drivers needed and I can connect to the phone and browse the embedded file system, but every time I try to install
a new module or create a directory from apploader, I get the following error:

"Error - Client specified an invalid write operation (There could be sharing violation or MSM specific problem). Try again".

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Thanks,
Witto

Is BREW App Manager open while you're trying to write? Try again from the phone idle screen.

I'm already trying from the phone idle screen... :-(

There is another error every time I start the apploader: "Error - Could Not get system images.". But I don't think it has anything to do with this....

BTW, I'm running Windows XP Professional SP1 in portuguese.

Hello
I have the same problem as witto. I noticed it also occurs on the 3589i.
More precisely I manage to uppload files and create directories but when I try to upload a mif file the following error message is displayed:
"Error - Mif files are allowed to be copied only in the BREW MIF directory on the device"
I know it doesn't comes from the phone because it worked with previous version of apploader.
I tried several combination (create a module, upload 8.3 files etc etc) but none seem to work.
Any clue ?

I have the same problem too but with the Nokia 6236i.

I'm getting the lame message: "Error - Mif files are allowed to be copied only in the BREW MIF directory on the device"

I can also load directories by creating new ones but as soon as I try to upload a MIF, bam - error message! Plus, I've tried loading the files into the "brew" folder with no luck.

Problem is, it's only happening with these specific files. I can load other files to the phone with no problems.

Anyone know what's up? =/

using "load model", incudes the mif file in the model folder.

Yay! Got it to work by installing Brew Apploader 2.1. I just copied over all the Nokia files (dll's etc) to the corresponding folders from 3.0 to 2.1 and got everything to load fine.

Hope that helps. :D

I've been getting the error message "Error - Client specified an invalid write operation (There could be sharing violation or MSM specific problem)." every time I try to install a new module to my 6236i. When I try to just copy a mif it tells me "Error - Mif files are allowed to be copied only in the BREW MIF directory on the device".

umiluv, how did you do it!? What were the folders present on your device? I have the following hierarchy:

/
->en
->es
->pt
->shared

I've tried copying the nokia dll files to the AppLoader 2.1, but it hasn't helped. Are there any other details you could give me?

Thanks a lot,

Marllo

"Error - Mif files are allowed to be copied only in the BREW MIF directory on the device"

Numerous Nokia phones will throw this error when trying to copy over jsut a mif and sometimes single files. Try copying over the entire application again [i.e. mif, mod and bar]. That should bypass the error.
