Hi
I was going through the BDS documentation. (BREW Distribution System).
It explains how every application downloaded can be billed by the carrier.
What if I need to bill my customers on the downloads they make from my application. i.e. Suppose my application downloads Images or Music, and I need to charge them for each of these downloads. How can I do this ?
Can I interface my server application with the BDS or some other system which does the billing ?
Anybody ?
Regards
Vinay

You could base your app's license on number of uses and define a use as a single download. When users run out of uses, they buy an additional lot.
You can't interface with the BDS.

Guys,
about the billing method,
are we, the developers, required to program our app so that it can distinguish the "unlimited use" basis or "monthly use" basis?
is there any sample code for that? considering that all developers have to go thru it anyway...
let's say we need the app to be able to "distinguish", therefore, do we need to submit 2 type(unlimited and monthly) of our apps to NSTL ?
lastly, have you ever had any problem with T720, there's a lots of limitations with that phone...can we submit one app with diff. version 1.1 (for T720) and Ver 1.2 for all other devices to NSTL? will we get charge 2 apps instead of one for that??

Look at the ILICENSE API in the BREW documentation.
Essentially, Unlimited use versus Monthly versus Demo versus Number of Uses are all controlled via the ILICENSE object and whatever code you put into your app. Therefore, if you put code to handle all applicable cases into your app, you only need one version to be TBT'd. You can have multiple pricing methods for the same binary.
I hope that is clear... I think I just confused myself.

Oh, and check out http://brewforums.qualcomm.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3921 for details on the rest of your question. The short version is that you need a seperate test for each file set. Therefore, if the T720 version needs to be different from all others, you need to have each one TBT'd.
