Hi!
I used a USB cable for LG-6000 and BitPim program to change some files on a phone. Now it keeps rebooting saying "updating user data[4]" or something similiar.
Is it possible to fix it, or is it broken?

If you are BREW devloper, get authenticated, then you can download apploader from Qulacomm extranet.
BITPIM is used to pirate application. Developers in this group may not provide you much info.

Hmm, interesting. Didn't know about BitPim.
What do I do with the phone meanwhile?

The phone will make a dandy paperweight.
How do you feel about hacking now?

<How do you feel about hacking now? .. used to pirate applications>
I do not see where this attitude is coming from? Hackers and pirates are using same computers and hardware as any other legitimate developer. So, would you declare any person using computer a hacker who is using tools for pirating?
If qualcomm and cell carriers do not want people to explore phone's file system, then make it protected and available only to brew authenticated developers! Declaring tools which are not developed be Quallcom as hacker's and for pirating is the worst what they can do!
Not documenting communication protocol but not closing it is another way to ask for troubles. This is the reason why Microsoft was sued. If people use BitPim, expect some legitimate company re-writing it and releasing. Will you call this company a hacker for no reason then?

You kids really make me laugh with your super-developed sense of entitlement. The world is all yours, right? And its all free on top of it because you want it that way...

Dragon, kid, you were out of line.

And Murray, the self-righteous schadenfreude was unbecoming.
Bitpim and tools like it have a valid place in the toolbox of the professional developer. For example, when recently a QA Directory accidentally borked his handset with AppLoader by deleting the BREW application manager's resource files, bitpim allowed me to copy them from an identical handset, and avoid the cost and inconvenience of getting the phone re-flashed. AppLoader itself wouldn't allow the copy operation. (Why it allowed the deletion is a mystery.) It would be a mistake to draw from this annecdote any conclusions regarding my ethics.

"Schadenfreude"? Oh yeah?! I've been called far worse, and in nicer places than this, I might add! :D
I suppose there was an element of schadenfreude (the word has no english equivalent) in my post. At that time, the fact that hackers (if that's not the case here, I sincerely apologize) using this tool were asking developers for help so the former could steal the latter's applications made me a little cranky. Seeing "BitPim" or GAGIN in print had a way of arousing suspicion on my part.
I'm glad you've been able to turn BitPim away from the dark side, whoever you are.

LOL. You're not likely to be called worse by me, in this or any other place; I've benefited too much by valuable information from you, as well as from Dragon and Ruben. Thanks for receiving my comment with such good humor.
