How many kinds of notification are there between a BREW phone and the carrier?

I want to test a system which can activate an applet on a given BREW phone. My way is sending a SMS msg to that BREW phone. There is an applet there registering to receive SMS msg. Is there any other way of not using SMS?

By the way, which document tells me what BREW SMS msg and non-BREW SMS msg are? anh what are the differences between them?

Tapi and Network notification including SMS will wake your app, you may also look into Alarms. I really depends what you are trying to do. Your app may not need to be notified for all Net events.
