Menu Control with MP_BI_STATE_IMAGE

I read in the API reference that this is possible, but i could not find out how ? can anyone help ?

i mean - where do i give the menu item controls its two images to swap between selected and unselected ?

the Item should contain an image that contain both the unselected and selected images as a string, the BREW takes half (the first is the most left - unselected) for each state
