Ouch ... just toasted another Moto T720 ... it now fails to power up.

Our demo app had been loaded on the phone yesterday and ran without issue.
Today, we did the following:

1) attach 720 to USB (COMM 5) using the cable/kit from Verizon
2) power-up phone
3) load AppLoader (2.1.1) and select COM 5
4) delete the application module from the phone
5) re-add the module to the phone
6) noticed app was back in directory
7) exit AppLoader
8) power-down the phone (still attached to cable)

we were now ready to test

9) power up phone (still attached to cable).... BAMMM

Now fails to complete power-up sequence.
Continually repeats the following sequence:
-- 6 seconds of dark screen
-- 6 seconds of main screen
Shows "No Service", clock seems to still work. Red power button is disabled.
Removing the battery and trying again does not fix it.

This makes 3 phones which died the exact same way ... after deleting and re-writing our module to the device and cycling power BUT BEFORE running our app.

HELP!

That reminds me a little of my beginnnings with the Pocket PC - the HP Jornada to be exact. Not that it is of any help to you, really, but back then I was breaking five devices within 2 weeks. HP replaced them for me free of charge, and eventually they believed me that it is a firmware bug and actually worked with me to located and fix the problem. Essentially what happened was that my program was able to overwrite the FlashBIOS in the device.

I know this doesn't help your case really, but maybe it makes you feel a bit better that others have been in comparable situations as well. :(
