I can't see new posts

This has happened to me quite a bit lately. I'll get a message saying someone has responded to one of my threads, and I'll go online aned see that someone has indeed posted, but when I open up the thread all I see is my original post. What's the deal?

I think the posts might have been deleted since they were spam posts..

Pinky18, MartL, and some other user (bill something) was posting on every thread. It looks like they took them out, but you still get new post messages, and they are still listed under "last post" most places.

really annoying because it is difficult to see when there are actual new posts.
