View Full Version : How know operator will offer app to consumers?

I have a great product idea. If I invest the time and money to develop a BREW app to implement it, how can I be assured that an operator will choose to make it available to their brew phone subscribers?

That is, just because I pass testing, become True-BREW certified and am listed as an available app, that does not necessarily mean that an operator will be interested to chose to make it available for download to their subsribers. I saw somewhere on the BREW website that there are hundreds of apps available, but when I look at my phone, I only see a selection of about 20-25 goofy apps. What criteria does the operator apply to the decision to make an app available for download? My idea is for a productivity tool. However, if all the download menu real-estate on the phone is going to whatever they find is the biggest money makers and/or organizations on the inside track and/or those that have made some additional payment to the operator and/or apps that target the 15-20 yr. old crowd...how do I know I won't go down this long road of development on a productivity app only to find that no operator choses to publish the app to their network for download. How can I avoid the risk of this scary scenario?

Does anyone have any experience with this that they can share?

Thanks for your help,

Bruce

Dear Bruce,

Why don't u spend sometime seriously discusswith your trusted operators, tell them what u plan to do and what u can offer them exclusively. That's what they really like to learn.

Operators are not in all business industry, but if you do, show it!!
